Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some of the most common questions we receive from insurers, property owners and managers regarding insurance repairs, restoration and emergency make-safe services.
- What is an insurance repair?
- Insurance repairs are building works carried out to restore a property to its pre-loss condition following an insured event such as storm, fire, water ingress, impact or malicious damage. These works are typically approved and funded by the insurer in accordance with the policy conditions.
- What does emergency make-safe mean?
- An emergency make-safe involves temporary repairs and safety measures to secure a property and prevent further loss after an incident. Examples include tarping roofs, boarding windows, isolating services or removing hazards. Make-safe works allow claims to progress safely before full repairs are undertaken.
- Do you work directly with insurers or homeowners?
- We work with both. Our projects are typically referred by insurers or loss adjusters, however we also assist property owners, strata managers and commercial clients who need support with restoration, make-safe or reinstatement works.
- Can repairs be upgraded during the insurance claim?
- Yes. Insurance covers reinstatement to pre-loss condition, but many clients choose to upgrade materials, finishes or layouts at their own cost during the repair process. This is known as client-initiated variation and can be quoted and coordinated alongside the claim.
- What types of properties do you repair?
- We repair residential homes, strata complexes, commercial buildings, retail spaces, industrial facilities and government or community assets. We also have capability to manage high-value and major loss projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Do you provide restoration as well as building repairs?
- Yes. We provide integrated restoration (water, fire, mould and smoke) and building reinstatement services. This allows us to manage the full recovery process without transferring the job to multiple contractors, reducing delays and improving claim outcomes.
- What areas do you service?
- We service the Adelaide metropolitan area, Adelaide Hills and surrounding suburban regions. Regional South Australia can be supported by arrangement for insurer partners and major loss projects.
- How do I get started?
- If you are lodging an insurance claim, your insurer or loss adjuster may contact us directly. If you are a property owner or manager seeking assistance, you can submit an enquiry through our contact page or call our team to discuss your situation.
